A personal motion project reimagining the Nike Air Force 1 through the visual language of public transportation in Rio de Janeiro. Inspired by the colorful patterns found on bus and train seats, I translated this familiar visual memory into a fictional Nike collaboration.

PROCESS

Do you remember the patterns on the seats of the buses you grew up riding?

Originally designed to hide stains and wear, these colorful patterns became an unexpected visual signature of public transportation. For me, they are especially connected to the buses of Rio de Janeiro.

Bushoe started by bringing this familiar visual language into an iconic object: the Nike Air Force 1.

The original storyboard was more ambitious, with several shots built around the experience of riding a bus. As the deadline approached, I simplified the  narrative and focused the film around the shoe itself.
I modeled the project from scratch in Cinema 4D, developing the shoe, bus-inspired environments and supporting elements before rendering the final film in Redshift.

The seat patterns were recreated and adapted in Photoshop and Substance Painter, translating their embroidered textures and colors onto the shoe.
